I would have to have both.
The 360 or the 430 is just sex on wheels, the 997s may be the perfect all around sports and I would use it for a daily (like my 996 C4S) and take the F-Car out for fun.

Funny you should ask, as I had a 2002 6 speed manual 360 spider and now a 997 s cab...the 997 actually feels slightly faster, but the 360 spider, with its mid engine lay out , had very slightly better handling, although it was very close...the ferrari, esp with the tubi exhaust, sounded better but was very loud, too loud for everyday driving...the seats are better in the porsche as is the driving position and manual shifter and the clutch, which are easier to use and quicker...the porsche had slightly better build quality and tighter body structure...overall the porsche was quicker, more comfortable and had a better ride, the ferrari was louder, wilder with very slightly better handling...the porsche is a better built , everyday sports car and the ferrari more of an expensive toy....then there is issue of where to park the ferrari, which is always a worry.....overall, i enjoy and drive the porsche significanly more at less than half the price...what a bargin!!!!

I love my 997 and I'm sure it is a better all around car, but the beauty of the 360 is simply incredible. I don't think there are many cars that can stir emotions like that car can, and that is something that 997 really lacks. Its a beauty, but it gets a "cool" whereas the Ferrari gets a "holy ****" out of spectators. Half the fun of spending $100k plus on a car is to get that wow factor way up, so perhaps one day I can make that happen. In the mean time, I'll enjoy the other half that makes a sports car great - great performance and my 997 does that in spades.

I agree with the wow factor. In my condo complex, there are six Ferrari s and a bunch of porsches. I double take on the Ferrari despite seeing them everyday. Just buy both and end the torture...only if I have the money.

Thanks for asking. Yeah, it came out fine. Here's some pics from the body shop...
Despite having two do not wash signs on the car, they still washed it

the 360 , in spider form, is still one of the most beautiful cars ever made IMO....even though i owned one, i still do a double take when i see one driving around...but i dont have a desire to own one anymore...i would like to give the 430 a whirl though...The transporter who picked up my ferrari when i sold it told me that most of the ferrari and lambos he transport have very few miles on them and often are owned for less than two years....I always wanted a Ferrari and i quess i got it out of system, a least for now...maybe after a few years of 997S bliss i will go back to ferrari, but for right now i am dream about getting my hands on a 997 Gt3, ....talk about a race car that is street legal!!!!!!!!!

I also feel that for the $124,000 I spent for my car (after TT&L) that it should turn more heads than it does rather than just being yet another sports car on the road. Ferrari and even the new Corvette (which had the 360 as its design target) does that and there's a lot of value in that attribute in my book.
When it comes to overall driving experience there is no substiute for Porsche, but when it comes to looks I think Ferrari is the defacto standard. I need to hear lots of Ferrari horror stories to kill that desire I have to own one.
