I realized that was what Herman probably meant after reading Dan's and Joe's follow up posts - how could they possibly know these same "two friends" when they both live in LA and not Chicago. That's when I realized the reference. And then I googled it to be sure.

No, had never heard of the make before. Not much of a gun freak nor an advocate of the 2nd Amendment for that matter, though I am conservative in all other respects. Go figure. On second thought, nevermind.

i believe ferrari of north america changed it policey to a standard 10k$ deposit...no interest payed...the list for the 430 is now closed, was up to 3 years or more.....the loyal, well to do ferrari customers somehow seem to mysteriously move the waiting list .....

Ben,

Also known as H&K.

I like them more than Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson.

This guy's serious as a heart attack (a major nut case). He's got some beef with DM and he's planning on hunting me down and taking it out on me.

EDIT: Just kiddin' Steve! I'm just playing here. I didn't mean anything by that.

No, really, seriously....I didn't mean anything by that. ... C'mon, you gotta believe me. ... I'm just playing the comic here trying to get some laughs. You gotta believe me, man.

Yup F430 F1 Spyder is closed. My neighbor is trying to sneak me under her wing to get ahead of the line. Be interesting to see if it works.

Hard to imagine grown guys dressed up as chicks to buy a $300K car. Life must be...different in So Cal.

Down the street, the Lambo guys were all ready to deal. I must've dressed wrongly for Ferrari. Didn't have my pants hanging off my butt cheek and not enough gold chains. I'll run down to the other dealership in Calabasas to see how they deal. 2 years is fine. I'm not the one who wants the car... my wife does!
The Lambo dealership here is new (just opened this year) and they are very happy to sell a new Lambo below MSRP (including their only Gallardo SE they had). They are also quick to admit that they'll deprciate like a Porsche, so don't expect to buy it and then sell it for > $50k MSRP with ease. It seems the supply for Lambo's is sufficent, so Ferrari's philosophy of always keep them wanting more (i.e., make 1 less than the demand) seems to help hold its value better.
