Default Quick Question: Lug Bolt Torque?

I'm about to go and buy a new torque wrench. Does someone have the torque specs for the lug bolts on the 997 handy? And if I remember correctly the bolt size is 19mm? Thanks. Didn't drive the 997 today so don't have the manual.

19mm is correct. 95 lbs is what I have been told and should not vary 5 lbs.

IIRC , this is in the manual. Mine says 96ft-lbs but yours might be different. Make sure and verify that since wheel torque is not something you want to get wrong.

I would suggest a 'soft socket', so as not to scratch/mark up the wheels or lugs.
I bought a 3 piece metric set from Harbor Freight for $9.99 (IIRC, it was mentioned at the back of the latest issue of European Car magazine), although there are other sources as well.

As for the torque wrench, if you buy the 'wind up type', please remember to always 'unwind' it when done; otherwise you will substantially affect the calibration.

FWIW, I went with a split beam torque wrench (doesn't have this limitation)

Very well made wrench, I've had it for a few years now
$175 marked down to $110....figures, I always miss the sales.

The service manual says "130 Nm (96 ftlb.)" -- if your torque wrench is that accurate

95/96 lbs is correct. I've got a Snap-on torque wrench. You can send it back to Snap-on, if necessary, for re-calibration. Haven't had to do that yet (in three years).
