Per Lexus versus Porsche, My brother has a GS300 and his has twice gotten him in a strange loop around the block of his destination. He would pass by it a couple of times before he realized it was just taking him around the block and then he'd have to call to get directions.

I think most systems (I have Pioneer, Lexus, plus Porsche) will try to get you on the same side of the street of your destination. So sometimes the system might ask you to go around the block instead of doing a simple left/ U-turn. Among the 3 systems, I think my Pionner (aftermarket) in my minivan is the best.

10. Not quite sure what a "Tour" is yet, and why I'd want to create one... Does anyone use this?

11. Haven't had a chance to evaluate the "Diversion" function. Does anyone use this?
5. I have factory installed NAV and have the same problem...does anyone know of a fix for this?

10. Tour is multiple destinations on one trip. I have used it and it works well. Once you have reached the first destination, it starts guiding you to the next one...etc..

11. I have used the Diversion function. It works pretty well. You can tell it how much of a detour you want. The main problem is that you don;t always know how far you need to divert.

If you are a PocketPC user, adding Nav is very easy and works great. The total cost will be about $300 for the bluetooth GPS, software, and holder.

I have a Dell Axim, I-Blue GPS (a geat unit) and iGuidance software. I also have the Nav in my 977S. But the Axim/GPS/iGuidance combination beats my Porsche Nav in all respects.

That's disgusting.

Sounds more like a Ferrari price tag.

What's the automotive world coming to?

Not that much worse than the $2070 you pay when you order your car with it.
