So here is what happened:
My wife wanted a new car. So while she is out of town, I decided to go out and buy her a car. I knew that she would have liked a convertible so I bought her a '05 997 Cab Basalt Black with tan interior thinking that she would love it. She comes back from her trip and finds, much to her surprise, the P-car in the garage in lieu of her car. She asks about the P-car and I respond that "this is your new car". She acts even more surprised but seems reluctant to say anything negative since "you do not look a gift horse in the mouth". Later, she approaches me thanking me for my act but pointing out that she is not confortable with a manual transmission and the black color but adds that I can drive her new car as long as she can have something else to drive. I offer the LandCruiser and she says it is too big, but "if maybe you can can still get my old car back I can manage it". I had stored her old car away and "managed to retrieve it."
So there you have it. I am driving her new P-car for now and since too many people ask me about it and I am having to respond that it is her car, I am thinking of getting a new license plate that reads "NOTMINE".
No more denial!! I think you need to accept the situation, it is your Porsche now!! "ALLMINE". I don't even think I would let her drive your car, but she can ride in it.
Hey I should've thought of that. My wife wanted a 997 and I upgraded to the S and X51 but in deference to her wishes I bought it tiptronic and regret I ever paid $3k more for that tranny. Sigh!
As a good husband, I agreed to buy a tiptronic so my wife can drive it (in other word, she wouldn't let me buy unless it's tiptronic) ...anyway, she drove the car exactly 3 times since we got it 8 months ago. Actually, it isn't that bad especially I have to take 237 in the morning and it's not fun to have a stick.
Well I opted for euro delivery and went to the ring on the way to france (ok more of a detour). Tip slows the car quite a bit in gear change, also had a bit of gear issues around a few corners.
Porsche needs a kick butt SMG like audi or ferrari.

I recall seeing the results of a marketing study once where the authors looked at only those people who would buy just one brand of car and consider no other. Porsche was the most common brand mentioned and the men outnumbered women by 20:1. The P-car, whether we like it or not, is overwhelmingly a man's car. Don't expect most females to buy into it (Lori notwithstanding)
aha gamble, that can backfire
one local guy bought his wife a ferrari, expecting this mother of two to never drive it. She decided to show him, & she signed up for some track days to learn to drive the car properly
Amazing... My wife (Latina) would kill me if I ever pulled that on her. I like to carry my ********* a while longer, maybe till the end of time!!!!!!!!! hahaha
