I'm borrowing a base Boxster with Tip until the clear bra and radar detector have been installed on my new C2S Cab.

I thought the Boxster Tip was going to be a bad case of a lot of vacuum cleaner like whining with not much in the go department. It's not fast, and the Tip is horrible, but it handles beautifully and makes all the right noises. Maybe all you REALLY need is one of these with a stick shift...

I'm very much impressed. If you own one of these you have every good reason to hold your head up high.

my 987s with 6speed manual is a joy to drive...not as fast or as comfortable or with the same panache as the carrera but just as fun to drive and probably better handling

Been there. Not a car for a six footer for everyday driving. OTOH, the Carrera is perfect.
