I plan on getting the Sports wheel (XRR) because I really like the look of these, however, I was a little disappointed to read on another thread that they are around 2lbs heavier - not sure if this is just the rear or front as well.

I luv the Carrera S wheels, they look stunning. Best way to clean them... use a wash mitt glove and plenty of car shampoo. The wheels provide enough room to clean the inside wheel area. Once finished take your leave blower and blow the water off the wheels paying particular attention to the rotors. The rotors should be dry enough not to cause the wheels to become dirty with back wash water residue coming from the rotor.

The wheels get instant attention at the red light or parking lot!

I don't like the "lobster forks." I think the SPort Design (XRR) wheels look GREAT! Someone had the Sport Design wheels (front only) for sale recently. I also recall seeing a set of 4 Sport Design wheels on ebay for about $2,200-ish (don't recall the exact asking price).

i decided against the XRRs, in fact i had a choice of indentical cars side by side, one with the lobsters and one with the XRRs..i drove both in i couldnt tell a difference in the slighty wider tires of the xrr..but the xrr is a gt silver color that is not as bright or shinny as the carrera s wheels...since my cab is black, the xrr just looked a little dirty and not bright....i think with the silver or gt silver car, the xrr would fit in better....also the lobsters are unique, the xrr look too much like wheels on other sports cars..of course wheels are purely about personal taste.....

None of the oem wheels thrill me stylewise. To my eye 5 spokers and straight radial jobs detract from the car. If you want light for performance you have no option at all. I went w the lobsters and am happy. In addition why spend more for wheels you don't really like?

I love the Carrera S wheel, and would not order a 997 without them. I think they go perfectly with the 997, and are an integral part of the overall redesign that the 997 represents. I think the Sportdesigns would be too hard to keep clean, and i think they look better looking directly at them rather than at an angle, where their lack of any lip whatsover becomes more apparent. The Sportdesigns do seem to go with the Cayman very well, their spokes match the cooling vents on the Cayman's rear panels. I find the Classics, although nice, a bit boring and common looking. For the 997, Carrera S wheel all the way.

I just got a set of Carrera Sport Wheels for my car. I think they look great. I also found out one needs the 17mm spacers for the rears on my C4S.

Sold mine and replaced em with Champions. Sometimes they look great, but overall they are busy.

I went with the Lobsters, but I think all of the rims look good.

There is to different off set for the rear rims 67mm for C2 and 51mm for C4 you might want to check to see if you got the right ones.

The Sports only come with one offset for both the C2 and the C4 - 55 front and 57 rear. It's the Carerra S that has the different offsets for the C2 and C4. It's the 57 rear on the Sports that need the 17mm spacer.

I tried to like the S but eventually changed to the Classics - very happy with the Classic look.
