Anyone know if the rear was still wider on the 996 C4S?

Yes the 996 c4s is still wider than the 997 c2s(1830mm vs 1808mm),however the new c4 is wider at 1852mm.Figures from total 911 magazine

For the metrically challenged, the 9964S is 72.047" wide at the rear hips while the current 997S is measured in at 71.181". The 9974S comes in at 72.913", a bit wider than what we used to see on the 9964S cars.
