The Air blower works very well... Be very careful to avoid any contact. I love to use it on those areas that manage to accrue water and follow up with a drying towel.

Are you using a air blower or a air gun operated from a air compressor??

Any good hand-held "leaf blower" type will work well BUT the area must be wet with water (obviously it will unless you move) in order not to transfer any loose dirt/debris onto the finish. If you moved it, DON'T DO IT UNLESS YOU WET DOWN THE AREA PRIOR! I use a Toro 217MPH blower and can get all water removed, and follow with a waffle-weave towel.

As for compressor, that's a big no no Oils from the compressor will get on the finish, and not all air-dryers are clean enough. Besides, too much air too close and you could end up with more problems.

Being a detailing fanatic like I am, another benefit of the 997 S over the E55 is it's smaller size!!

Seriously, I never used any type of blower. The easiest way to dry (and does not take much time) is after you're done washing remove the nozzle of the hose, turn the water on to a very slow, gentle flow and allow the water to run over the car. This sheeting action will actually remove most of the standing water on the car. Use a WW microfiber towel to finish it off. Takes no time at all. Still anxiously awaiting a nice day so I can go detail my car for the first time.

I use a Toro 220 mph electric leaf blower. Works awesome. I follow that up with a good waffle weave from pakshak. Oh, its not a Porsche but the principle is the same. Hopefully one day it will be a TT or GT#.

I use a blower on my bike and it works just fine, I have not tried it on the Pcar but it should work as well.

This is a possible alternative to forced air drying:

They do offer a discount for PCA members.

I use the same setup for my car. If you are particular about swirl marks, this is the only way to go if you have a black car.
