I wish they had simply given me the car, but I am not so sensitive to not see the humor in it. NOt a bad piece of entertainment.

I must have missed that show. 928 would not fare as well being driven head first into a wall. Wouldn't bother me quite as much either come to think of it.

I think blowing apart a Maserati simply involves driving it. AS

I think you guys are missing the point - the point was to show how strong the 911 is, how well it's built. If you guys watched the show more, you would know that they have done the same "how to kill a..." segment with a toyota truck as well.

I thought it was interesting. I doubt a new Porsche would fare as well

Yes Clarkson our very own Clarkson................I find him quite amusing and light hearted, but he has the habit of rubbing people up the wrong way, notably the motorcycling fraternaty in Blighty by accusing them of Gay pretentions due to the leathers etc, but on the whole pretty harmless fun.

Although on that piece of footage you got to question the mentality of someone trying to fatally damage a rear engined, air cooled car, by diving it forwards into a brick lavvy

By the way he has the newish Ford GT 40 in his car collection, so he likes things American, with the exception of the Corvette

The last i had read, Clarkson had given up on the Ford GT and had asked Ford for his money back. Read the article here.

I take it from that article he still hates American cars. And his antipathy towards Porsches is legendary. He's still a funny bloke though.

So why destroy what appears to be a perfectly good car? Looks like a '70's vintage car. Prices are going way up on those cars. Hell, I would have liked to have that car if they didn't want it.

Seems irresponsible to destroy a perfectly good collectable car for a few laughs on the internet.

There other and better ways to do that without sacrificing a good collectable car.
