Kurt, yes I tried the sports shifter on a demo car yesterday afternoon. At first I thought that all the 997's came with it until i saw the spec sheet.

I like the short throw, definitely notchier -but I like it.

Lobster wheels? Hadn't heard that one before. And yes, I'm sure i'll warm up to them (maybe with a little butter).

And sleep was hard to come by last night as you all predicted. This is stupid, it's been a long time since i was a kid I didn't feel this way when I picked up the 996. It is as some of you have said, a different animal.
