It all depends what they have in stock on the day! Seem to be biased towards Michelin (which is probably connected to the fact that Michelin is a big sponsor of the Porsche Cup races).
My preference is Pirelli P Zero Rossos and my dealer has helped out a couple of times by switching tyres for me before delivery.

Must say that it is annoying that when you can order a car with almost any option you like the choice of tyre is something you can't normally control and yet it can make a huge difference to the feel and performance of the car. I know there is no such thing as a "bad" tyre fitted by the factory but if you drive on different makes there are some big differences.

My October 2005 build came with the Michelin's and I'm actually getting a new set for the Cayenne as well... The boxster came with Conti's and the A6 has P's.

Soon - all my cars with have Michelin's...

It varies from day to day in the factory from what I've seen. I had Michelin Pilot Sport 2's, but a C4s on the boat with my car had Pirelli's.

Do a search, there is a good thread about this that has a poll with good data about what you can expect.

I can say my tires look good and protect the rims very well.

The Pirellis are pretty slick too, and your odds are that you'll have one or the other (although other choices exist).

I ran a poll on this a few 'pages' back. Michelins were leading the pack.
