Default Two cars available - which one??

I'm starting to freak out here! Ordering my E55 was EASY. I knew exactly what color and options I wanted. Never a second thought. I was pretty sold on getting the 997 in black. I actually like detailing my car, and it is not a daily driver, so figured I could handle it.

Unless it's just the pics that I've seen the silver seems to lack that "wetness" or depth that I like (in certain silver). My E55 has it in and looks great. It's very 3D looking if that makes sense. So, I have a choice of the following two cars. Any thoughts, both with regards to color and options would be much appreciated. Gotta make a decision as both cars on the boat. Here are the two cars:

Black/Black heated seats, sports chrono, Bose, carrera classic, self dimming mirrors.

Silver/Black power seats, self dimming mirrors, heated seats, carrera classic, colored wheel caps, TPMS, Sports chrono, black mats - porsche lettering.

Both are lacking sport shifter which I will add.

Black in Black - you can't go wrong. Silver is cool but boring. Black never goes out of style!
Is it basalt or solid?

The silvers are nice also. The 996 is Arctic and the 997 GT Silver. Silver is hard to photogragh so they may look the same.

Thanks. I just e-mailed pics of your car to my brother. Looking for all opinions! How different is the Arctic from the GT silver?

To a non Porsche person I guess they are close. I like Arctic my 996 was Arctic. The Gt Silver IMO is probably more of what you are looking for unsure if the picture does it justice but it has that livelier wet look you were describing. I love the GT Silver.

so basically the difference is:
Black, Bose
vs
Silver, Power Seats, Colored Crests, TPMS, Black Mats

Hm...I'd choose the silver if I didn't care about color (because to me the Power Seats and TPMS outweighs Bose), but I think your priority should be in the color.....

Having just lived the challenge you are currently experiencing, I can feel your pain.

I went with a Black/Black C4S. (March Build) There are just to many arctic silver p-cars on the road. However, I was highly tempted by the seal grey/natural leather combo. Much like you, I don't mind the extra care required to maintain the beauty of the true black, as I have a Benz in black (non-AMG S Class) as my daily driver.

My dealer called me the other day, inviting me to drop by and look at a Black/Sand C4S that had just arrived. Without question, the black exterior was the most striking car on the showroom floor. Others present were: Arctic Silver, Basalt Black and Lapis Blue. Once I saw the Black, It confirmed my decision.

Good luck in solving your conundrum.

I have Arctic silver and would have chosen black had my Benz not been black already.

In your case the arctic has the better option package. Just depends what's more important to you.

boy! you do have trouble making a decision!
i thought i was bad!

why the need to take one of these 2 cars?
if they are not what you want have the dealer do a search or you can do one on porsches site and find something closer to what you want.

but if you are just wanting others opinions on these 2 cars, i would go with the black that includes the bose.
power seats add weight and the manuals are the best i've ever used.
tpms would be nice but i wouldnt choose a car because of it!
if you can't decide on a color you can never go wrong with black.
when ever i'm at a dealership my eyes are always drawn to the black cars.

BUT! it's YOUR car!
if you're freaking out maybe you should slow the process down and look!

btw my 997s cab seal gray is in the shop now getting the short shifter

Why not just order what you want? The wait isn't that long and any time you save is more than made up later knowing you didn't compromise on something that wasn't what you really wanted.

Arctic silver gets the nod - plus, in this case, it's much better equipped

ordering is another thing too, I mean buying something as special and personal as a porsche off the lot with colours and options a dealer has selected is like buying an off the rack suit at tailored prices.
You said you could get an april build slot with your local dealer.... might be worth it....

Agree...order and get exactly what you want. Drive the E55 while you wait.
