Default 997 Turbo Styling

Is it just me or did Porsche kind of miss the mark with the 997 version of the TT? I find the Carrera looks first rate but the stuff I'm seeing coming out of Europe of the new turbo isn't working for me. Odd looking vents here and there. It's just really busy looking. I was sort of thinking they should have started with a basic body like that of the Carrera 4S, widen the front and rear fenders further, and returned to the side intercooler ducts of the 1994 Turbo S.

I agree. Gills for intercooler ducts and wierd fog lights like the Cayman.
Why couldn't they have taken the old 3.6 engine and made it 3.8.

I have to agree. Might have to wait for the 998 version. What a shame.

I personally think that the 996 Turbo is possibly the best-looking Porsche ever built. The stance is just aggressive enough, the nose looks great, and everything just seems to work. The 997 version has a lot to live up to, in my opinion, and it doesn't pull it off. The exhaust holes in the rear bumper are especially annoying. It is kind of disappointing to me--I want the Turbo to be the very top of the 911 food chain in looks, power, desirability, etc. even though I can't afford it. Oh, well, maybe the 998 version will be different.

That's too costly and besides most buyers don't care or complain about the cheap plastic inserts. I was really hoping they'd ditch the plastic inserts, now that they're a cash cow; but I guess its the accountants that are running the company. I really like the look of the 997, and after seeing the turbo, hopefully the GT3 will look better cause I need a replacement for the targa.

I don't love the Cayman but it does look better in person. Then again, perceptions are fleeting.

I agree that the pics of the new turbo are so-so. I was not crazy about the Cayman S until I saw them on the lot,...now I think it's a really nice looking ride.
One thing I KNOW I don't like on the new turbo are those weird looking LED things in the front spoiler and those Cayman frog-eyes. They look like cheap add-on aftermarket products in these TT pics.

I really like the new turbo look. It looks alot better than te soft looking 996TT. The idea fo taking the 997S and widening it is good though. Then add some vents and wala you have one of the best looking Turbo porsches ever, the 993 turbo.

The turbo width is the same as the current 997 4S, no change there.
