Thanks OCBen. I would have liked to do a full car picture but I did not want to give you a heart attack as my car is way too dirty. Unfortunately it was 9 degrees out today and I couldn't wash it. I know you wouldn't ever let a car get in such a condition but that's just its one of those annoyances us northerners have to face.

Wow, 9 degrees out??? .. I remember those days when I used to live in the snow belt area along the shores of Lake Erie. Yes, very difficult to keep a car clean under those conditions. But judging from your pics, your car looks sharp, all things considered. Or did you just wash the front end just for the photo shoot?

Chris, I agree it looks better with clear...but then again I may be biased.

OCben, I did think about washing the front end including the wheel wells but I knew once I started I wouldn't stop until the whole car was clean and I wouldn't get to changing the side markers.

Ok possibly dumb question...

I know the clear side markers are "clear" but is the bulb still amber? Arent signal indicators supposed to be amber by law (assuming us/canada)?

OK, so lets say 'someone' hypothetically speaking, decided to 'pry' out the side marker instead of using the screwdriver technique, and when trying to re-insert the side marker (changing the white bulbs back to amber) realized the the clip is bent out of shape hence the side marker is sitting loosely and moves front to back a bit and in and out a bit. Attempts to rebend the clip have been somewhat unsuccessful, is there anyway to salvage the side marker instead of buying new ones as it seems that the clips cannot be removed? or can the clip be broken and replaced?

I think dark colored cars look better with the amber and light cars with the clear side markers.

True boolala I'm debating whether or not to do this on my 06 Seal Grey.

Any other seal grey owners out there have clear side markers?

And another question which I'll probably get blasted by OCBen... Are the bulbs originally white with the amber plastic?

So when I get the clear plastic I gotta change the bulb to amber...?

kauai_diver - The amber side markers come with clear (white) bulbs. The clear side markers come with amber bulbs (see the close-up pics of both markers that icruze shared in post #58 on page #4 of this thread).

If you don't like the amber color in the clear side markers, you can buy some "silver coated" bulbs that look white when they are not illuminated, but are amber when they are illuminated. However, you should NOT put a white bulb in the clear markers.

… and a partridge in a pear tree!

Do not waste time debating this one. Call Sunset in Oregon, spend $22, and install them. If you don't like them, it would be the cheapest Porsche option you ever wasted money on.

I beg to differ; I love the clear on all colors. I stopped by my dealer and they changed them for free, I just paid $26 for the lenses, this is by far the most inexpensive mod I have done to the car and worth every penny. To be honest if the came back to me and said it was $200 I would have paid it, so I was pleasantly surprised at $26.
