I got to check out Joe Fabiani's C2S 997 with the complete fabspeed setup at his shop, the thing is cosdiderably faster and sounds badass compared to stock.

I'll check out the fabspeed system and let you guys know what I decide.

I know the exhaust is one of the recalls but I don’t know what the others are yet. (Didn’t really ask.) When I get my car back, I will post a full update with a list of recalls, and I will also keep everyone updated about the exhaust. I appreciate all of the great feedback!

I've had my PSE for 3 months on my '05 997 CS and all I want to do is drive the car to listen to the exhaust note! It draws attention unlike my '98 993 Cab.

Thanks for the note Bruce. I'm having mine installed in two weeks. Can't wait to hear how it sounds along with the Evo intake system that is being installed at the same time.

After doing some research, it seems like I should go with either AWE or Fabspeed in order to gain performance, a better sound, and less weight. I couldn't decide between the two, though, so I went ahead and just had my dealer add the chrome tailpipes in the interim until I can decide for certain.

Some of you wanted to know what recalls were performed on my '05 997s (launch car) with just over 27,000 miles, so here is a list of what the dealer did (recalls) and what I had the dealer do:

- oil and filter service (my request)
- wiper blades (my request)
- chrome exhaust tips (my request)

- shift cable bracket replacement (recall)
- sealing door harness & plenum panel (recall)
- oil fill neck and upper air cleaner housing replacement (recall)
- exhaust tip replacement (recall)

They also discovered a nail in my passenger rear tire, which they repaired. At 30,000 miles I will replace all of the tires. (Rears were replaced for the first time at around 14,700 miles.)
