For many years few of Porsche's leathers were just plain vat-dyed leather,--they had colorings PAINTED on. The exceptions to those, I believe, would be the BLACK and the NATURAL BROWN. As a result, they wear better. Although I liked some of the leather colors that they produced you still had a painted on surface. Anyone know otherwise these days? My experience base is dated.

I have to research this one, as I myself am waiting for my '06 C2S with full black leather.

Leathermaster provides the best cleaners/conditioners I have used in alomost 20 years of detailing.
Yes Woolite makes a great cleaner
"Coated" leather does not mean it is painted but rather that it, much like your cars paint, also has a clear coat protecting it. This is why all clear coated seats should be conditioned with a WATER-BASED dressing. There have been rumors/reports of conditioners causing problems on coated seats which are made for aniline seats (non-coated).
Most leather seats are only leather on the face, the sides and back being leatherette/vinyl and over 90% of all leather seats today are coated seats.
It is said not to use lanoling based products on "black" leather as it can cause streaks to appear on the leather.
Leatherique is a very nice product but I believe it should onlybe used on aniline seats and not coated.
