Teflon is one of the most abused names in automotive protection.
Teflon has to be heated to a very high temp before it can bond with any surface.
Dupont the maker of teflon has even said it has no effects in waxing your car.
Dupont has even said teflon in car waxes, sealants have no effect. SHAME on those who say teflon works in auto detailing!

The old, "scare him to death and give him a solution" abuse of you, the decent customer.
It's like excess tipping of the dealership. They do another us$50 worth of spraying the car with crap and you pay them another huge tip of about, what, us$950.
You already tipped them big time by paying MSRP.
Do they deserve to be overtipped?
No way.
read the manual and learn how to take care and "repair" paint and leather.
I agree with Deanski above, teflon is not universally useful/practical.
They're probably spraying the car with silicone-based stuff inside, which IS NOT a good idea; and who knows what they're spraying on your beautiful new paint... .

Has to be the funniest (and worst) thing I've heard about some dealers. It's 100% pure profit and will do nothing to help you. Read the posts. We don't mean any harm here, but many of us have been down this road before. Snake oil. You are wasting your money.

They might try a quick fix first. How due I know this because, I have a interior repair business and have repaired leather for customers(of a caddy dealer in my area) under the this same type of warranty. I believe the customer paid like $1000 for the so called treatment. The dealer makes a ton of profit of this because most people don't even take the auto back in for the damaged, Just my 2cents
Forget the "Teflon" and stay with true proven exterior and interior care products.
As for the 5 year warranty..., look close.. it's not as clear as just drive it in and put in a claim.
Dealer makes a killing on this stuff. sure, it looks good to great at first, then as with everything exposed to UV rays, all start to degrade.
Use a good sealant if you choose to not maintain the finish as often, or use a wax. You can even use both! I've done prep, sealant, then a high-end wax such as Souveran for dark (red/black) finishes with very good results.
Save your $$$ and find a really good detailer if you choose not to do it yourself!

Under no circumstances should you consider Teflon for your car. As great as the guys are at Suncoast (I spend time in Sarasota) that is just crazy. A clear bra will take car of any worries you may have, which are minimal in comparison to the roads we guys up north have to deal with. Seal it, and wax it and you will never regret 86ing the Teflon idea.
I have some experience with teflon. I own a interior design business, my company also manufactures alot of what we sell including window treatments and furniture. We custom make furniture and also do re-upholstery and slipcovers. I offer teflon treatment for everything we sell. To give people an idea of what it costs I pay aprox. $450 for a 5 gallon container. The way that it works with my business is the item we treat is then covered by a 10 year warranty you receive a contract. If you ever have a problem you contact the company directly not my company. From my experience with customer feedback it works. However, I never thought about using it on any part of my 997, and I never would. As far as pricing though I would say you could probably cover 50 997's inside and out with a 5 gallon container for $450.
