Slightly higher since the system uses the same mufflers and adds a pipe and valve.

Yes, a little heavier but my seat of the pants says not too much. I'm sure any extra weight would be offset by easier breathing. If you are really concerned about weight, Fabspeed or GHL would save some, but make sure you'll be happy with the tunes.

Did you say you had the Fabspeed and decided to sell it?

I asked this question to a distributer for Eisenmann, the manufacturer of the Porsche OEM Sport Exhaust. I was told that the PSE is about 5 lbs lighter than stock and offers no more than about a 5 BHP gain over the standard exhaust. Keep in mind that this information is not documented anywhere.

Driveby - yes I still have the Fabspeed and would like to get rid of it, but its hard for me to recommend. I've been meaning to contact Fabspeed to see if I can ship it back to them to check, and if it checks out OK to their specs, then I'll feel more comfortable selling it.

Re PSE being lighter per Eisenmann, I find that hard to believe, since its basically the same cans modified internally and with extra apparatus to operate the on/off function, and with two exhaust pipes instead of one.

I find it weird that Porsche would actually add a performance equipment that adds weight. Most exhaust systmes go the opposite way and do give you a slight power gain. The PSE seems to be solely worth for the sound. Interesting!

I take it you were getting resonance with the Fabspeed? Let me know once you have them check it out...

No resonance at all - they just sounded too "muffled" - or I guess not loud enough (I liked stock 997S better). Perhaps they were just not broken in, but I don't know.

Ok, so the Fabspeed was quiter than the stock exhaust? How does it compare to the PSE???

if you're that worried about weight rip out the rear seats, the upper center console, your nav, sound deadening, do airbag delete and get full race seats.

Default Vancouver83LTD I could also buy a GT3 for that

matter. Not the point though. With this engine layout, adding more weight to the back end even if is it 5 Lbs only seems counter-intuitive. I have a race car that I built with weight being the enemy but even for an everyday car or for DE times, less weight is always better.

5 lbs isn't that much
if you're really stressing out over 5 lbs then you have bigger problems.

Let's not argue over nothing. I am just making a point. 5lbs or 50 lbs does not matter. And no I am not stressing but thanks for caring.
