Default How much off MSRP these days?

I'm looking for a 997 Carrera S (or still debating about C4S for year-round convenience).
How much off from MSRP would be a good deal to get say in a $95-$99K car?

Thanks

I would say $3000 to $4000 off msrp would be good.

I'd say push for 5K. One dealer is advertising a bunch of new cars on ebay at $4.5K off now.

If people are getting 3-4K discount then essentially the price comes out to what most of us paid for our no discount 05's right?
didnt they increase msrp by a few thousand in 06.
If you can find a used 997 with options you want I would definitely go that route

There was only a $1500 increase in the price from 05 to 06.

Nice deal...just curious, why such an odd amount? You couldn't tell them to round it up to 7k, lol?

Thought about it and makes a lot of sense. However, I'm leasing (as I hate to bear equity risk on highly depreciating non-productive mobile assets ), and the lower residuals and higher rates on 05 pre-owned cars make them cost the same (monthly lease payment) as a brand new 06 (assuming a $5K discount).

Default msrp

It seems to vary according to what part of the country you are in...here in Southern Calif. I felt I did OK at 2k off...I'm not good at "GRINDING". So someone else may have done better at this dealership.....Dane

I've been shopping in the NY/NJ area and 4 to 5% discount seems to be quite possible. Of course it is January...Discounts could be less in a few months.

For others interested or looking into buying, Brandywine Porsche in PA has some new cars in stock on which they are offering up to 10% off (A $90K Carrera S down to $81K) this weekend.
I'm probably heading there tomorrow to see if I like one of those....
