The pics here don't quite do it justice, but generally speaking, in comparison to other metallics, the metal flakes are larger and really make a striking difference in the appearance.

It definitely has the best metallic flakes I've seen (bassalt black size flakes).

Coochas is by far the least rude person here on Rennlist. ... I, on the other hand, cannot make that claim.
Coochas was merely pointing out that by the obvious designation on the door sill, that this particular rare car is one of only 50 ever made in the Club Coupe series, and that therefore, without even seeing the color, anyone who is a Porschephile would know that this color has to be Azurro California. ... Obviously Mr. Bob in NY is not a Porschephile.

Aww shucks. While we're in the mood of apologizing, let me apologize to Mr. Bob in NY for my comment quoted above and is now an eyesore now that I see it. I meant no disrespect by that. It's obvious now I could have rephrased that much better.

Alright Ben with the olive branch.
Now this doesn't mean that we'll all be swapping spit in the shower.
I promise to be good too !!

BTW, I mentioned my Lapis Boxster S but I forgot to mention that my wife had an 04 Cayenne S in Lapis, and she grew tired of that (as well as the tan interior) too, so much that my price for her permission to swap my 04 Targa for an 05 C2S was to swap her 04 CS for an 05 CS in a different color (and with LOTS more options). I think you will tire of Lapis.

I've heard others say, "Never buy a black car, because they're impossible to keep clean and you will tire of trying!"
Different strokes for different folks.
But if you're ordering a new car, why not paint-to-sample? Then if you get tired, at least you will be uniquely tired.

You know those jokes, "things you'll never hear a Southerner (or Northerner or whatever) say?
Here's one you'll NEVER hear.
"Don't buy that Porsche, you'll get tired of it."

I have had my '04 996 Lapis Blue for about 10 months now. Initially, I was looking for a Midnight Blue Metalic P-car, but couldn't find one with the options I wanted at a reasonable price. My "second choice" was Lapis Blue. I get a lot of compliments on the color and the comments usually include the words "lively, vivid, unique, and/or striking." I still really like the color very much and do not think I will tire of it anytime soon. Just another opinion.

My P-car is Seal Grey with a black top.
I saw a Seal Grey with a blue top at the dealer today.
Pretty sweet looking, I like the dark blue top.
Looks good in the pic posted above too I thought.

My 996 cab was lapis blue with a natural brown interior and I loved it. I was hoping someone would have custom ordered an Iris Blue (my favorite Porsche Blue) 997 and posted some pics. If anyone knows of such a 997 send some pics this way.
