I was one of the lucky one's to purchase a club coupe. Mine is #8. The main owner's manual refers to a PCM manual for the advanced functions of the PCM. My dealer says that there are no additional manuals for the PCM. Any input from a 997 owner regarding the existence of a PCM manual would be greatly appreciated.
Your dealer is nutz. There is indeed a separate PCM Manual. Go get the sales rep to take one out of another car he has in stock.
In the meantime you can download a PDF version on RennTech.org. The only problem is it's not the current version of the PCM but it's better then nothing.
That's not the current version of the PCM 2.1 manual. It's fine for the basic PCM functions but it is missing the Sport Chrono, Individual Memory etc. functions.
The current PCM manual is now 209 pages and the part # is WKD 951 324 06 (as of 10-2006). It is dated 01/05 and covers the Sport Chrono, Individual Memory, Logbook, Telephone, NAV, NAV Extended and Mail functions. This is the version of the manual that was delivered with my 10-2006 build 997 S.
The latest version, which I needed to get because the one that came with the car didn't incude the GSM phone functions, is about 5/8" thick. Don't know if it covers sport chrono.
It does. With my new C4S I got two PCM manuals (one quick start and the 5/8" comprehensive manual). The manual is so thick, it does not fit in the leather folder.

The earlier version is the same part number ending in 05 dated 03/04. It has the "Individual Memory" settings offered by Sport Chrono in ss 2.2.4 p 22-26. It also has the description of the Sport Display (ss 7.1.4 p 63-70) designated "optional equipment". Of the 209 pages, just 104 are in English
By now you have your answer .... It's THE most complicated piece of electronics that I've ever had to decipher...
I'm an idiot with this stuff - example.. I've had the car for a year and I still use my garage door opener that came with the garage... Once a month I head out to the garage with the PCM manual in my hand and an hour later I come back into the house in a foul mood..

Homelink makes the Porsche garage door opener. It's easier to follow then the PCM book.

Good advice...plus he's looking in the wrong book. Don't believe there's anything in PCM manual on homelink, it's in the owner's manual.
