Default Still a Waiter

The dealer just told me my car was completed on Nov 23rd but is still waiting to get on a boat. Can this be right.....sitting at port for 14 days?

What is the longest lag at port...waiting for a boat?
Does anyone know when the next boat is leaving?
How long till I should see the car? picking it up in Mississippi

Thanks

Doug

Don't feel bad I was told my car had an estimated completion date of 11-8-05 and did not hear anything about the car having a V.I.N. or being done so checked with salesman and he e-mailed me Monday that the car is still being painted. So who knows. I do know that the Porsche computers are not always up to date. Coochas C4S was listed as ON VESSEL one day and practically the next he was saying it had arrived.

If your car has been sitting for 14 days awaiting a Vessel you should be on soon and will probably have your car right around the first of the year.

Yeah, o' Toom's car has been on hold for the longest time now. ... Man, that's gotta be frustrating. Sure hope you guys get your cars real soon. ... It'll sure make for one memorable Christmas!

If your car is coming into Atlanta area I think your commute across is right at 2 weeks. I am in So. CA so I figure 1 month from the time I am notified ON VESSEL to the time I am at my dealer picking it up. Then its straight to O.C. Bens for a proper polish.

My 977S was built the same week as yours, and my dealer told me Monday that it is ONVESSL and should be in No. CA around the end of the month. Perhaps the computers haven't been updated.

Was that a Nov. build car? What dealer in No CA is the car coming in to? My car is ordered through Steven's Creek in San Jose and was a Nov. build. Maybe there is hope.

I ordered at Carlsen in October for a December build. The build got moved up to November. I guess the factory wanted to close early for holiday vacation.

I must be the longest waiter here. My car was originally ordered in June. Then the wait for the X51 to become available, then for whatever reason my OCT build wouldn't take the option so the dealer without asking drops my Oct build and moves me to November build. I was confirmed with the X51 on my order the morning after Aerosmith was confirmed with his, his got moved up a month and looks like mine was moved back 2 months so there you are. The luck of the draw.

Yup...My Nov. build X51 Cab was somehow moved to a planned production date completion of 12/26. With luck, a late January delivery. After ordering several prior Porsches, I dont think there is any rhyme or reason to it, and I doubt if the dealer really has a great deal of conrtrol over production order and real predictability. The waiting game.

Yea. Just got back from gym class with my 2 y.o. and there was another e-mail from my salesman. My car is built, has the V.I.N. and is now waiting on a lift across the Atlantic.

At least it is some good news.

Hmmmm, this is all very interesting as my dealer said today my car was completed 11/25 and will be in port (San Diego I assume) in about a week. That would mean I'd have the car before Christmas?!?!?

Since all of these posts have completion times pretty close to one another seems they'd all be arriving about the same time??

Geez, I hope this sales guy is right as I've been feeling like like I've had about 40 shots of espresso since he gave me the news.
