Sure thing, thanks a lot Stan!

Oh, and thanks for showing me how to hide avatars. I'm in quasi stealth mode now!

I sat in my car for an hour last night trying to figure that out and now it's clear that Porsche want you to look at the screen only when you have the music on...I know I know I can always turn down the volume

By the way, that battery conditioner got very hot after only 60 mins of use. Shoud I really leave that thing plugged in for long a period of time?

The battery conditioner usually stays on for about 12 -24 hours and then shuts off with the very small current remaining on. So it will cool down.

Adam, anymore tricks and tips with the MFSW & PCM that you've figured out, being the gadget guy that you are? ... All this new gadgetry seems kinda like a nintendo game where you discover hidden tricks & shortcuts that aren't mentioned in the manual just from playing around with the thing.

Is that why you've been trolling the 993 board lately? ... Tell us what you got!

Default Got the wrong steering wheel in my 2006 c2s!!

I ordered the smooth leather steering wheel and instead of giving me the standard sport steering wheel, I got the standard steering wheel with smooth leather. Should I just live with it? I had two 996's in the past and always had the sport steering wheel, which I like better.

If that's what you ordered and that's what you paid for and that's what you want, then make them order it and install it for you, free of charge. ... Don't just live with a mistake that can be corrected.

Speaking of avatars (oh, about a page or two ago) do you ever wonder what some of these handles (usernames, monikers, etc.) that we come up with actually mean or refer to? Some seem obvious if it looks like the name of the person, but are you sure about that? Also, do you think you know the gender of the person behind the username? Just because a username may sound masculine or feminine it doesn't necessarily mean that's the actual gender of the person behind the posts. It wasn't that long ago that someone here actually thought THPorsche was a woman and the girl in the avatar was a picture of her, I mean him. (Sorta gives tranny a whole new meaning in this car forum.)

Like for example, what in the world does boolala refer to, or riad, or....
Just something to chew on a Friday night as I sip down a cold one.
Feel free to add anyone's username here that you've often wondered about the meaning behind it (not that they will actually fess up to it). But just out of curiousity.

Boo: a term of endearment used by certain ethnic groups in referring to their children or lover.

Ou lala: French term loosley translated as "Oh my!"

boolala: a nick-name I was given by one of our secretaries (who I dated briefly).

LOL That's great! ... I would have never guessed that was an actual nickname. ... And I'm not even gonna ask at what point she exclaimed Ou lala, Boo!. ... I guess I would be proud too to have that nickname.

The house door has fixed dip switches, it was very easy. My office door has roving, changing codes, It took me and 2 other guys about 1/2 hour to get it synced up. I still have no idea what combination of pushing buttons made the door work.

No...I'll gladly take it off his hands...sorry, I wander the boards guys. I heard it's interesting to sit back and hear about the nuances of new car ownership, kinda like 20 years ago when the 944 series started peoples affliction. Now I bet some of those guys moved up to a 997, hopefully I will too someday, as they are great cars.
