Default White with sand/black interior. Pretty or ugly?

I've been struggling with the thought of a White Carrera S with sand/black interior. If I had my way I'de order White with a deep red/black interior. My salesman is totally against the sand/black interior unless it's on a black car. He say that it will be an odd and hard on the eyes. I think it would look nice on a white car. Black on black is beautiful but also very common. What should I do? Is it that difficult to place a color to sample order?

I saw a white/black 997s at the dealer today. I thought it was stunning, however, I'd prefer white/sand. White/red is a bit to 80s for me.

Well if this helps you my 997 TT is coming white on sand. I once listened to a Porsche salesman and ended up with the wrong color combo car, get what you want..

May salesman says white with black is fine and white with sand is fine but the white with sand/black two tone would be a bad combination.

What dealer was this? The white with red would be a tribute of sorts to my father's 356.

When I imagine it and build it online, it looks perfect to me. Especially with the gearshift, hand brake and trim strip in Sycamore.

White exterior. Sand/Black interior. Sycamore wood trim pieces.
Should be absolutely stunning - and unique in a good way, not in a "hard to resell" way.
I vote - go for it.

Add to that, black dials, aluminum look instrument surround and leather covered seat backs so the Volcano Grey doesn't throw everything off. Oh, and black floormats to add to the two tone effect. If you build the interior online using a 997 so you can see the black dials you'll see what I'm talking about.

It was Hennessy in Atlanta, however, I'm pretty sure it was a car in for service, not for sale. I'll take a pic of it if you want, let me know.

Thanks. A picture would be great but I don't want you to go out of your way just for me. There are very few pics of white 997 type Carreras. I found these online at a dealer. It's white on black.

Not at all. ... Like I told you, the Paint to Sample is a literal description. All you need is a sample swatch of your dream color that you can mail in with your order, be it a piece of fabric or anything whatsoever that bears this color. They will optically analyze it and generate the color code for it, and paint your car this color. That's actually quite remarkable when you think about it. How many manufacturers can offer this?

Like I said, the choices are obviously infinite. ... We've seen some strange colors along with some really beautiful ones that make for quite a unique car indeed. If this is really your heart's desire, then I'd say "Go for it!" And be truly unique - the proud owner of a one of a kind creation!

The downside (besides the obvious cost factor) is that it adds a week or two or possibly longer to your order process. But if you're waiting 4 or 5 months already, what's a few more weeks to get what you really want?
