Default Gotta Love Washing the Car Below 32 Degrees

Washed the 997 last Wednesday at 50 degrees and it was great. Washed the QX56 SUV today at 28 degrees (it needed it bad) and after I suds' her up and pick up the hose to rinse, my entire black SUV looks like a chocolate cake with vanilla icing after the suds froze to the car!!! I wish I took a pix. It took me 30 minutes to rinse her off because I first had to 'melt' the suds and then rinse the white ice particles off the car.

They have a word for that: oye-vey!!!

Adam, you mean you don't have a "Y" connector that can feed hot water in your garden hose for car washing??? ... I do and it never freezes here! ... Just for those rare "cold" 45-50° days here... brrrrr!

I really believe you could plead non compus mentis, but I'm sure you will remember the incident for a long time. LOL

That's why I'm waiting for Sunday when it's supposed to be warmer for the 997's first wash and wax. Saturday will be "swap tires on the Cayenne" day...

1080i-

I know your pain. While I do have a warm softwater tap in my garage, I didn't think to put a drain in there so I could do it all inside. Consequently, I've had to wash MANY a car in sub-freezing weather. Painful, but a must. I don't have a picture of any of my other cars, but this was one such occasion. Now it's a matter of stubborn pride (a.k.a. stupidity)- neighbors that don't even know me, at least know that I will always have spotless cars- whatever the cost.

Thanks. It's long gone now, but it was a fun car back then. It was silver, but the cloud cover doesn't show that.
