Default Classic or Sport Design on Black C2S?

I have the S wheels on my Black C2S and I don't really think they add anything to the appearance of the car. I like the Classic rims but they are the same silver-gray color as the S rims. Are the Sports Design rims this same color or are they more like polished aluminum? I think the black car needs brighter rims. Any pics of Black car with Sport designs or RUF 19's?

Sounds crazy but I believe it's true that ALL German car mfgr's use the same silver paint for their painted wheels. It's a product made by "Wurth." Avail at various online car sources.

My point: silver painted wheels are the same silver.

Black cars and chrome or polished allow ARE really neat. I prefer the polihed alloy since it's not as glittery as chrome. Maybe just what you want; a notch above painted, but not full blown chrome?

If those are the new wheels tht are available on 06's, I haven't seen them except in pictures. I spoke to someone today that a set of Sport Designs for sale and he said they are the same silver color as the S and classis. I'm thinking of having the set of Classics I just bought powder coated a brighter aluminum-silver color.

I doubt it but I could be wrong. If they are GT silver there will be a big Woop Dee Doo Hoopla about the GT color in the brochures created by Porsche. I reiterate: Mercedes, BMW, Porsche stock wheels (and other German mfgrs) are all painted the exact same color silver.

The new Sport Wheels are definitely painted GT Silver.

Actually, the stock wheels on my Mercedes E500 are much brighter silver than the Porsche wheels. That's where I got the idea that the brighter rims looked better on a dark car. My E500 is dark grey, almost black, and the contrast of the dark paint and bright silver wheels really looks good in my opinion.

I'd really like a set of 19" Techart rims but they're not in my budget.

No offence but chrome wheels on a premium sports car are just out of place. They look, don't make me say it,...starts with a "G" and ends with an "o."

My GT Silver '06 Carrera S has factory 19" Sport Design wheels. They are not painted GT Silver. They are lighter in color and appear to be the same color as the standard 19" Carrera wheels as well as the 18" Carrera Classic wheels that were on my '02 996. I'm going to the dealer on Tuesday and take pictures of both wheels for comparison. I want to do it under the same light conditions for accuracy.

This is a crappy picture but it's the only one I have at the moment.

You can have your Porsche wheels polished or chromed at WheelEnhancement.com. I haven't seen the finished product, but I made the inquiry about doing my Classics and they say they can do it.

Not affiliated.

It is the new Carrera Sport wheel that is painted GT Silver, did not mean the Sport Design Wheels.
