Question Aftermarket TPMS

When ordering my car, I neglected to select the TPMS option and now realize the potential benefits of having such a system in a vehicle with no spare.

Currently, Porsche does not offer dealer installation of this option. Does anyone have experience with or suggestions for an aftermarket TPMS?

I found these after-market systems on Tire Rack(link).

Check this one out as it gives you a beep when pressure is low and perhaps saves you from mounting a "non-Porsche Wart" on your car...

BTW, I don't want you to get the impression that I'm using them. So I can't say if they're any good or not. But there they are.

John,

Thanks for the suggestion. I am hoping to find something I can mount in an inconspicuous space but still have somewhat convenient access when necessary. The audible warning could allow for an out of site install. Given that this is my first Porsche, I figured there would be a few things I would probably miss with my order. Unless there is an elegant aftermarket solution (read “no visible wart”) I may just wait to see if Porsche begins to offer TPMS as a dealer installed option.

My car is scheduled to arrive in San Diego tomorrow, so I should be holding the keys by the end of the month. I can tell you once I receive the 997, other than checking the cold inflation pressure on a weekly basis, TPMS will not be at the top of my mind for awhile.

Thanks again for your input.
