Default 5mm wheel spacers?

Does anybody have the OE 5mm wheel spacers on their 997? It's in the order guide, and you get them from the parts dept. Do you like it?

I was bored the other day and had the dealer install them on my 997C2S. It improves the stance a little, but it's subtle. Now, the C4S really needs some spacers or something, because the wheel is tucked way inside the fender well, IMO.

I was wondering about the spacers too. Have you noticed any change in handling with the spacers?

How much did the dealer charge for the parts/labor? I missed the deadline to change my options on my car, and didn't get the chance to add them.

I have the H&R 5MM on the rears and they seem to help fill the wells - especially after the H&R PASM drop.

Synergy--How do you like your H&Rs--ride height, feel, ride quality, etc?? Were you able to get factory specs back on your alignment settings?

Thanks! Just made that move on my car an am looking for some additional insights.

BTW-so as to not completely hijack the thread, you can easily purchase and install Por$che or H&R Trak+ 5mm spacers on your car arrives. Shouldn't noticeably affect handling, but will help Porsche's offset conservatism looks-wise. Offsets are so bad on the 987 (would need 15 mm spacers) that I just changed out my 19" wheels.

I think it came to about $400 if I remember right (parts & labor). The spacer kit included new longer wheel bolts.

I'm interested in the H&R drop with PASM too (mostly for aesthetic reasons). Has the ride quality changed? Do you hear any weird noises now?

The H&Rs are wonderful and the ride is similar to stock, however much better handling. The look is much more agressive and overall I am very pleased with the outcome.

I feel the C4S really needs wheel spacers in the rear. The C4S reminds me of those early 993 Carreras with their tiny 16 inch wheels , those wheels were tucked away inside the fenders as well.

Ray: I have driven my 987 for several hours now after lowering, and can find no bad behavior (i.e. feeling of mismatched spring/shock, roughness) at all. I love the look and how it has tightened up the ride about 10% with little change in ride quality.

I have a non-pASM car, BTW.

I agree the C4S needs wheel spacers. With the standard set up it (IMHO) looks less attractive than the C2S .

Did you get the longer wheel bolts also?

Thanks!
