If it was bad gas, why would it affect either the right or left bank of cylinders only.

Perhaps the gas was either Republican or Democratic fuel?

Clearly it was a democratic move against the "right" bank. ;-)

Default Update

OK, I just got off the phone with my service advisor. The car has not been having any problems since monday. It is not misfiring. They drove it over 30 miles, no misfires. They let is sit over night, no misfires. They changed the oil because they thought it might be a sticky lifter. What changing 800 mile old oil might do is beyond me. But right now the problem is gone and I got a free oil change. Here's to hoping the problem stays gone.

Now, I made the mistake of complaining about a loose and rattling/buzzing hand brake button (the only noise in what has been an otherwise rattle-free cabin). Well, turns out the car needs a new hand brake lever. And since they took the old one (old one, LOL, it's brand new!) apart I still have no car as we await the arrival of a new handbrake. Isn't this fun? Sure hope I get my car back by the weekend.

I guess the good news is that she's running fine. After 3 weeks I really fell in love with this car. The separation is killing me! Waiting was easier because I didn't fully know what I was missing.

Well, keep an eye on her once you do get her back. Hopefully it was just a glitch that worked it's way out, never to reappear.

Now you can't get your car back 'cuz you'll have to wait - what, three weeks? - til they get a hand brake all the way from Germany? .... How funny is that!

Oh man, they better have one in Atlanta is all I have to say. If not they can put the old lever back in and give me my car back. I need the thing to drive to my second PDE masters course in a month.

I feel really stupid. The brake worked fine. The button just rattled and buzzed like crazy. Ughhh. Shoulda kept my mouth shut.

You feel that way now, but in the long run, you'll be glad you got rid of the rattle.

Default Back where she belongs

Well, my baby is back where she belongs.

The problem is gone. They removed and reinstalled the mufflers, checked the fuel pressure, checked the compression, checked for cylinder pressure loss and completed a complete on-board diagnostic. They also changed the oil. They can find absolutely nothing wrong with the engine. I'm guessing the engine is tighter now than when she left the factory.

In addition I got a brand new hand brake lever. The original lever definately wasn't right. The button was very loose and rattled. The new one is propperly solid.

All is right in Blue Zoomer Land .

Guys, I really apreciate all of your support. This is a great board.

That's exactly what I was going to ask, seeing that your car is now finally in your garage.

Yes indeed, all's well that ends well.

Great news! The question remaining is did they ever come up with a reason/fix for the problem? I get concerned when "could not duplicate" is the only solution.
