What was supposed to be a six-month wait turned out to be a four-month wait.

Must work tomorrow morning, but I have a 2:00 PM appointment to write "the big check" and take delivery of the car.
Don't you hate it when work interferes with your life?

Well, 2 pm will come soon enough. I just hope they don't keep you waiting and waiting to write that check. It took me around 3 hrs before I was able to drive away just because they were short on help at the finance office and only one guy was taking care of everybody, including those contemplating buying an extended warranty on a previously purchased vehicle. Talk about torture.

Took delivery yesterday at 2PM and really haven't touched down yet. Having read through the manuals over the last few months, I was pretty familiar with the car so, the actual delivery process went very quickly. Kudos to Rusnak/Westlake for a very easy transaction...no pressure to buy junk extras...very considerate of my hectic schedule.

Driving impressions? Holy crap!! What a car!!!

It's ludicrously fast. It's solid, strong, smooth...it's beyond what I had expected, and I had some very high expectations. Long story short - it's probably the best car I've ever driven. I started to feel truly comfortable behind the wheel after only about 50 miles.

One more thing - the Sport Shifter and the Sports Exhaust are my two favorite options. The Bose sound system is just like every other Bose car audio I've heard - it's nothing special. But, I didn't buy this car to listen to tunes. I was warned the Sport Design wheels would be tough to keep clean. I didn't listen, but I hear ya now.

And...I'll bet I've got one of the very few 997S cars with black gauges. Very old school.

Outrageous car! I love the black dials. The exhaust looks awesome as well...I wish I had it.

Sorry, JF, I didn't realize the Club Coupes will be wearing Black Gauges. Makes them even cooler IMHO.

Man, I feel so lucky. I live in San Diego and EVERYTHING is always LA first. My BMW came to Port Hueneme which lets face it is LA North. Man, so excited that my Cayman will come into San Diego first!
