Cool Tint

I had the Blue Zoomer tinted today. I believe it's 25% transmission LLUMAR tint. I could have gotten darker but I think this is fine. It's kind of nice to be able to see.

Tint is a must have here in Florida. That said, I really like what it does for the car's appearance.

Wow, that third pic is suitable for framing. Really nice. ... Looks like an excellent pic for an avatar!

LOL, I was thinking the same thing.

That's the Tampa Bay, a short walk from our house in the Old Northeast section of Saint Petersburg.

Damn that car is sweet. The exhaust tips look great in the second & third photo. Tint looks good too! Too dark and you start pushing overkill. And you wont see in the rain.

Its probably illegal, but very useful thing to do is tint the windshield with a lighter shade of the same film, maybe a 55% but no darker. It will keep the same color around the car and you wont be blinded by the sun going down and other cars at night, etc... And 55% should come out pretty light. If the installer is good it will look virtually stock. I speak from experience, and NOBODY has ever noticed it was on after 2 years. Not even police in many instances. (well, not MANY instances, hehe...) (oh, and im not refering to my S2, it doesnt have any tint yet)

Thanks. Honestly, I just can't stop looking at the car. It's so much better looking than the 996 when seen in the flesh. There is something just so darn sexy about the 997.

Sorry, no tint on the windshield for me. I like maximum visibilty in that direction. And as you say, the authorities might get testy. I nice pair of Oakleys doesn't hurt though.

Who did the tint work? My brother lives in St. Pete and wants to get his M5 done. Did they remove the door panels when they did it? Otherwise, I've been told that the solution gets on your leather and inside your door electrical components and it may cause damage down the road.

Wow! That is absolutely beautiful. Try a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses instead of Oakley--I think you'll like them better.

Film King on Park Blvd. in Pinellas Park did the work. He's done an Audi allroad, a GMC Yukon, a 996 and now the 997S for me. He doesn't remove any door panels. I haven't noticed a single problem with a single car. He's very neat and clean. Obviously I'd use him again. How much do you think he charged me for the 997S?

I think your car looks good as is without further lowering, if you're thinking of doing it for the looks.

Is that a trick question? I'd guess $150 for all five windows.

How did your installer work around the auto-up function with the windows? The little up-down business the windows do when you open and close the doors, I mean. Sometimes that can cause a problem by not letting the film set properly.
