They have plenty of room to play with in the 900's. Remember they went from the 964 to the 993 then 996. Although going backwards in number would not make logical sense, since it would seems to indicate and earlier and not a newer version. They may eventually jump to 9001 or something. I think all 911's have had a 9 as the first number. Even the boxster was 986 and 987. Even though the Cayman is C7S, but that is a totally different car right? Can't say till I drive one.

Keep in mind that Porsche is more than just a car company, the other numbers are probably already taken (although, they may not be assigned to a car).
