So who posted that flats are rare when we found out that the 997 wouldn't have a spare?

All that engineering prowess and they couldn't fit a spare? Lame.

Sorry to hear about your mishap Carlos. Make sure you get the Pilot Sports. I have them and I think you would like their traction. Also contact your Porsche dealership and complain about how long it took to help you.

Porsche did a survey and found that the majority of their customer base does not fit the profile of someone who changes their own tire and opted for the approx. 20 x-tra liters of storage space instead. And, yes it's true, your plugged tire no longer carries a speed rating ( leaving the liability on you! ) a plugged tire on a car capable of such high speeds?what are you thinking? Just MHO!

zaner, I don't change tires and prefer the space. That said, the roadside assitance program has never performed for me. This time it was 4 1/2 hours, the last time ( a snow storm) was 8 hours.

If I get a flat that can be plugged on the side of the road quickly, I will learn how to plug a tire.

Your point, as others, re tire reliability with the plug is well taken. I am ordering tires. thanks

I have only had one instance of the roadside assistance program on my GT3, they actually called me asking me where I was. Total time from the call to pick up...30 minutes.

Sorry to hear you recieved such poor service.
