This is my car btw. How did I find out--long story. My dealer misread the order guide, called and told me that the tiptronic was not available on the Club Coupe--due to physical reasons I don't have the left leg control to work a clutch, so I was really bummed at the news. I wrote Peter Schwarzenbauer a nice letter, asking if we could work out something, and within 10 minutes of faxing my letter out, the dealer calls back and says false alarm. Tip was in the order guide. Well, I figured Herr Schwarzenbauer would really just ingore my letter, and wonder what this dummy from Texas is talking about. Can he not read an order guide

So I order my car, on 8/27. Low and behold on Monday I get this email from Glenn Garde at PCNA, telling me he's replying to my letter to Peter; he appologizes for my being told incorrect information, told me my car is being built per my order, should complete production in early October and will be no. 2 of 50.

Paul, that is great! I too have heard production starts early October (with today being the last day to have order options in) so I guess we get our cars in January if they are indeed all being built together?

I was told mine will complete production in early October, not start production. That could conceivably mean it gets here late October (if early means early in the first week), most likely by November, and certainly December. I'm betting November

Ordered an 06 Carrera 4 Cab on 8/26. Dealer gave a $2,250 discount. Didn't get many options. November allotment/build, was told to expect car sometime in December but it could come sooner.

Congrats Paul, that's great! 2 of 50 is pretty impressive. I'm also glad they were able to fit you with the Tip - that would have been a heartbreaker. As others have said, post lots of pics when it arrives!

I ordered my S Cab in August from Newport Porsche. My sales guy said no discounts because they are in such high demand that the 997s do not stay more than a day or two on the lot.

I did go to Hoehn Porsche last weekend and they offered 1% - 2% discount off of some of the cancellations they had coming in (997S and 997S Cabs). I am not sure if they would offer the same discount on a new order.
