Random Thoughts
Random thoughts.....
1. When the route guidance on the NAV system calculates directions, the computer inserts a checkered flag at your destination similar to a racetrack. That is totally cool.
2. I don't like the fact that the cab roof switch automatically raises and lowers the windows for two reasons. First, when lowering the roof, it is hard to know exactly when to release the switch even when you watch through the rear view mirror– either the roof retraction has not been completed, or the windows start to raise when you want them down, so you have to lower them a bit again. Second, after I wash the car and clean the windows, perhaps I want to lower the roof without re-wetting the clean windows within the doors because the rubber window seals are still wet from the car wash.
3. You have not seen Michael Brown, Director of FEMA, on TV lately, have you? Why? Because he is banned from TV and other interviews and he will soon be fired after his “I didn’t know about the Convention Center” comment.
4. After all the criticism, the optional Bose sound system really does sound good.
5. The 911 really does handle, run and drive better when it is not parked in the garage.
6. Despite my optimism, it is time to admit that the Orioles will not make the playoffs, again, this year.
7. The fact that you cannot position the seats in any position without hitting, and risk cracking, the windscreen, is an interior Porsche design defect.
8. In retrospect, the 4 month wait was not that bad at all. In further retrospect, this particular random thought is pure bull crap. The wait sucked.
9. The PSE is starting to sound more raspy the more I drive the car, and everyone else that posted this observation was correct.
10. Joining Rennlist as a member and participating on this Board has allowed be to learn things I never would have known from any other source and, as such, remains a priceless resource.
peace...

Nice random thoughts.
Nice random thoughts.

I deleted my rant because it is not Porsche related. Nor was it Rennlist appropriate for this Forum.

Everyone needs to find someone to blame to make them feel better. The fact is that no one or no agency could have been prepared for the magnitude of this hitting New Orleans and the levee's failing etc....
if Bush or FEMA ordered all these troops and guard to be ready and it missed New Orleans than all the people would have bitched about what a waste of money it was and the President & Federal Gov...is so stupid and wastefull..on and on and on.....
This is not a class or race thing it is a natural disaster that happened to hit the poorest of the poor at a time when they were out of money and or had no car to flee the scene...
Last time I checked, no one is ever totally prepared for any natural disaster......to many unknowns.......
It is real easy to point the blame or criticize, but until you are in charge and have walked a mile in those shoes, its better to praise all those giving their time and lives to save everyone they can...
We will all learn a better way for the next time by going through it the first time....

Regarding two points of P-car interest on your post:
#2 I look for the red light to go out while the roof is opening to signal it has completed the cycle, then I simply push the window buttons quickly and they don't come up. You really do not want the windows up when you open or close the roof.
#7 Get GT3 seats.
Peace
