A Real Treat!
Thanks to a very generous aquaintance I was very fortunate yesterday to be allowed to drive 3 amazing 911's. A 1965 from the original generation, a 1972 911S Targa, and finally a 911 RS 2.7. These cars are truly amazing considering their age. They have incredible road feel, beautiful steering and never feel slow. The RS is truly a wonderful car. I never imagined for one minute that I would ever be able to drive one of these cars; now I'm hooked.
In comparison the 997 feels boring - sorry! I'm going to see if I can find an RS replica (originals are around $150K so out of my price range) and then possibly trade in the 997S. As a fun car for leisure drives I think it would be hard to beat the experience of an RS or a copy of one.
