I think I'm trading my 996 tt for a 997/997S. I've been on the fence for a while but the styling and new interior is eating away at me. I just love the lines. Some questions. The car will be lowered immediately, is PASM still a "must have" option if I plan on lowering the car? How about the sport chrono option. I also will put some type of exhaust on the car. What have you guys been using? I'm a Fabspeed fan and like loud but do not want any or little cockpit resonance. Any other after market goodies I should look at? I'm not going to try and build any serious hp, if I wanted that I would stay with the turbo.
Thanks.

There are lowering system available from a few vendors for cars with or without PASM (H & R and others) . As far as the difference in ride feel with and without PASM, try to drive both for your self.

Sport Chrono provides a second more responsive throttle mapping, switches to PASM SPORT setting (which you can manually switch back out of using the PASM button) and activates PSE, if installed. The Sport Chrono also allows for setting of some PCM options such as daytime running lights, altering light fade out, dealy shut-off, etc.

As far as exhaust goes, there are several options available now. It is pretty much a personal taste sort of thing. PSE is a fine option, which I have installed on my 997S. Others have opted for Fabspeed, GHL, AWE, Gemballa, Cargraphic and others. I think it is hard to advice someone else on this very subjective choice.

Clear side markers seem to be omnipresent. Some opt for aluminum pedals and foot rest. Another consideration is clear bra for stone chip protection. Then there is the wide choice of optional wheels. Again a very subjective choice.

Good luck making the choices. Just think of what appeals to you and forget what anyone else likes or dislikes.

That is what I was counting on. What about the "sport" setting having a more aggressive throttle setting?
