Do you regret choosing black?
In my ongoing quest for the 'right' cab, I picked out an '05 black (not basalt)/black cab from the dealer lot. Looked really good even though it had been outside in the sun and rain. Drove wonderfully. Felt solid and tight, unlike the arctic silver/gray I drove a week before and that I wrote about here. Told the salesman to wash and wax it up, and park it in the showroom, top down. I drove by after hours later that night and saw it. Absolutely stunning. Most beautiful Porsche I've ever seen. And, it's priced right and I can deal with this dealer.
So, the obvious. What about black? I'm the type that personally washes and waxes my Porsches. I don't mind it. And I did note that even when not recently washed, the black cab looked wonderful. Am I crazy? Any regrets out there?

I regretted my black bmw - so I got a AS 997S. My decision was further fortified by the numerous USED MB and P cars in my dealers lot. While not all were taken care of like I take care of my cars (they are babied), as a rule, the silver cars looked a lot better than the black ones (even 2 year old cars). In other words, the silver cars hid their age and wear/tear better.

I've had black cars almost exclusively for the last 15 years. While they do take more effort to keep clean, they are unequaled in their ability to look amazing when clean and polished.
The other benefit to black for me is that it's a color that looks as good when the car is five-years-old as it does the day you buy it. In other words - black is a color you don't get tired of; it never looks "dated." Many metallics, reds, yellows, greens, and blues come and go from the automotive color charts, but black, silver, and white are timeless.
Oh, did I mention my October-build C2S will be Black/Black? It will be my fifth Black Porsche.

Leader, You hit it the nail on the head. Black is truly beautiful and if you have a little time it's well worth the effort to keep it looking good.

Black on black chose ME, as I learned of my 06 C2S when it became available en route from Georgia. I have not owned a black vehicle since my new 1987 16-valve VW Scirroco that I purchased in medical school. Now, with 150 miles on the car and one week of ownership:
I could not be happier with the color combination!!

I was convinced I wanted black, don't really care about the extra cleaning, but then saw one (not sure which black) on the floor all polished up and could see alot of scratches from polishing already, so went with AS. I don't know if the dealer was particularly abusive or what, but I can't imagine they were that aggressive, and what would it have been like in a year?
That said, I know everyone here is likely at least as "****" about swirl marks, so there must be a way to remove them and keep them away.
Anyway, very happy with AS, it too, I think is "classic."
But on the way home yesterday there was a black S parked by the road and I almost wrecked looking .....

There is nothing like a clean black P-car! Once I got the right foundation on (Klasse or UPP), it really is not that hard to keep nice. California duster (dirty of course) does a nice job for the usual dust and Mequires #34 Final finish for quick spots.

Black here. 2nd black car in a row. Can't imagine driving any other color.
Sure, it's work, but when it's clean, there is nothing else like it.
And a clearbra is a good idea as well.
