Well said, OCBen: The head room in my S is significantly more than that found in my 3-series (E46). You won't regret the power seats.

Electric seats (especially the memory feature) is a necessity for me. I seem to have to tweak the settings endlessly to get comfortable, and without memory if anyone messes with the settings I have to start all over.

Keep in mind that the Adaptive Sport Seat option includes the electric seat / memory functions, i.e. you do not need to order that separately from the Adaptive Sport Seats.

You guys know that Porsche lowered the seats for the 997 don't you, that's why the sunvisors don't work a damn.

I think I heard that before, but wasn't aware of it at the time. And considering how much more head room there'd be if not for the sunroof. Maybe their marketing dept. got wind somewhere that basketball players have shown an interest in buying up 911s if only they had more head room.

By the way, does the 996 sit lower (ride height) than the 997? I know the 997 rides higher than my 300ZX, which was surprising. So I take it the visors in the 997 are a direct import from the 996? I wonder if the Cayenne visor will fit the 977, hmmm.

Speaking of visors, the airbag warnings are painted on!! Most other cars have stickers which are removable (though difficult). I couldn't believe that they did this!

See the Do It Yourself (DIY) instructions on Renntech for easily removing them.

OCBen
Thanks. I was able to "search" for it. Didn't find it in the DIY section, for some reason.
