997/997S laps times at LRP or Glen etc.
Hi,
I'd like to know what the 997 or 997s can do at some of the Northeast
tracks such as Lime Rock or Watkins Glen in the hands of a capable
driver. Thanks in advance for the info, and please list any mods to the car
if any.

I NOT a capable driver.. but I had my 997S at the Glen a month ago for a CVR DE. There is no formal timing at these events, but I can give you an idea of speeds. I hit 134 on the back straight (out of the S's) and a buddy said I went around at 2:35.. Keep in mind it was my 1st day at the track.. ANY track.. I'm sure some REAL drivers will chime in soon..

Nice to see you on the forum again Gary. How did 134 mph feel? I know that I may never get the opportunity to experience this unless I get out on the track, but it seems that you have a new passion that is growing. Keep in touch as you prepare your car. Let me know when it's almost complete. I told Dan that I would eventually stop by. It would be great to see your car at or near completion. How much longer do you have with the modifications?

Thanks Jay. The "Silver Ghost" will be done just before the 8/27 DE at Limerock and will get sorted out there (IF I get in!). Stop by earlier that wekk and you should catch it near completion, let me know when and i'll go with you/meet you there.
