New to Rennlist and Porsche Cars
I will be picking up my first Porsche this Thursday, a 2006 black on black "S" and am excited about becoming a member of this passionate group. My experiences in my previous 2002 M3 have been favorable, but I have no doubt that the 911 will be a step above my previous joy. I am glad to have found a new forum, after having many good times on the E46 M3 Roadfly message boards. Already I am eager to find any links to Porsche groups / organizations here in Houston, TX where I can become more involved. Any thoughts?

Welcome aboard. Are you planning on selling your M3?
Just curious because I'm a similar situation only with a 2000 3coupe, non-M . My wife drives a CrossCountry Volvo so if I sell my BMW the Carrera will be my only means of transportation... which I guess isnt really a problem, anyway just curious.

Is it safe to assume from your screename that you're a cell biologist or somethingorother?

Congrats. I can't wait to see the pics. And if anyone ever ask you "why black"? Just tell them because "its BADASS!"
I had the chance to buy a 2002 M3 a few months ago before I got my 997s. I'm glad I did not take the plunge, as I would have been stuck with it, and not been able to buy the 997s.
I did test drive it for a few minutes, and thought it was pretty cool, but it did not feel like a sportscar, like the way the 911 looks and feel.
Enjoy, and try to get some rest the night before you pick up your new baby!

Same as you, also just sold my M3 Cab for a 997S Cab (and also was occasionally on Roadfly). I very much liked the M3, but be prepared to be completely impressed. Congrats.
