Everything looks good except the park assist and the sport design wheels. Get the carrera classics. I think they look better and aren't a pain to clean. The park assist sensors in my opinion look out of place on the rear bumper. Also get the full leather, with the supple option. The seats are extremely comfortable and you will love the look and feel of the real leather. Otherwise the setup looks great. Congratulations.

I agree about the park assist - too many holes in the bumper. Everything else sounds really nice. Good luck with it.

Let's question the thing about parking assist being good if you parallel park alot. (Hey, almost a pun, "park alot," get it, "park [in] a lot?" )

Just think of it, your bumper will get less minor damage over time, could pay for itself, right? Though, then again, if you parallel park alot ( ) the damage is probably going to come from the multitude other parkers who care much less than we would about accuracy. So maybe PA is also a useless convenience.

my advice is get exactly what YOU want...you earned it, spend it freely...and go enjoy the hell out of your car.

p.s. I have park assist and its almost invisible as they are now flush mounted on 997

cheers

WOW, I didn't know they had redesigned the park assist sensors on the rear bumper, I had to look twice at your pic to see them. I envisioned the "old" sensors like the pic below.

Before you write off the adaptive seats, make sure you sit in the standard Sport seats for some period of time, to be sure your back and the seat back "get along". I always buy the adjustable seats, so I can set the lumbar to fit my back. Everyone's back is different. A friend of mine bought a BMW without lumbar adjustment, but he sat in it at the showroom for half an hour, to confirm it would be comfortable. The salespeople kept coming by asking if they could help. Remember, you are going to spend a lot of time in that seat. You don't want to wreck your back. It's not worth the savings, so check out the seat first.

The other thing to find out is wether the sport seats have *harder* cushions than the standard seats.

This really bothered me in my BMW when their sport seats started hurting my a** after a several miles of driving! never had that problem with previously-owned normal BMW seats.

I HOPE this is not the same situation with Porsche because I ordered the sport seats.

Thanks for all your help, guys. Below is my final options list:

Black Exterior
Black Mats
Black Full Leather
Heated Front Seats
Sport Seats w/Full Leather Interior
Park Assist System
Bose High End Sound Package
Self Dimming Mirrors
Sport Chrono Package Plus
Navigation for PCM
Remote CD Changer
Sport Shifter
Sport Exhaust System
19" Carrera Classic Wheel

After much consideration, I decided to get rid of the carbon package, steering wheel, seat belts and fire extinguisher. I added full leather interior instead. I kept the Park Assist because, upon seeing Carbon_00's picture, it didn't look too bad. I also changed the wheels to the Carrera Classic. Thanks again for all your help and advice!

LOL... Maryle8802

The smooth aesthetics that make the car suave! It just disappears together with the rear *****!

I’m totally not against it because of it’s function... just the looks.

@fuenfer
Congrats on your car mahman!

Now that fuenfer has the final options for his new machine, I thought I would hijack the thread to ask the same question about my options. I have a September build '06 997S - any advice or input?

U2 - GT Silver Metallic
405 - 19" Carrera Classic wheels
AT - Black full leather
342 - Heated front seats
P01L - Adaptive sport seats, leather interior
680 - Bose High end sound package
267 - Self-dimming mirrors
640 - Sports Chrono package plus
670 - Navigation for PCM
482 - TPMS
X54 - Chrome exhaust tips
666 - PCM phone option

Thanks!
