Default Man this car is great...

Been driving the 993 for a couple of weeks and now switched cars and have been driving the 997. Its so much better driving, don't get me wrong I still love the 993, but for performance, nothing beats the 997. Its like the 997 is a scalpel and the 993 are plastic safety scissors, at least compared to the 997.

I just love this car, best car I've owned! We are very fortunate.

Interesting and glad to hear. I hear so many people (owners and non-owners alike) rave about how the 993 was the last "true" 911 and how much more fun they are to drive. It's good to hear someone who experiences both regularly state otherwise.

Texas911:
I've been lurking on this site for quite a while now, reading as much as possible to learn about the various models and their idiosyncrasies. I value your opinion on these two cars.

I have been thinking about a "weekend only" car and the 993 and the Cayman S are both candidates. I would like you to keep me in mind (d.han@earthlink.net) if you ever decide to sell your 993 since my budget may not allow for the 997. I may be in the market in early '06.

Thank you all on the Rennlist site. I''ll continue reading until I have something useful to contribute.

Thumbs up Sho 'nuf

Texas911... I know exactly what you mean. Every time I get out of my S "God I love this car!" goes through my mind. I love my old 3.2 and will probably never sell it but damn, this new one is freakin' amazing!

No way for me to get a test drive in a 997 in Ohio so I have no way to make a judgement, but it is encouraging to hear your feedback.

I have been considering what I would like to do and vacillate between a new 997 or a 993TT to replace my 993 C2.
