Apologies for raising the short shifter issue again but the recent Vertex ad in the new Pano (July 2005, pp 80) caught my eye. They are advertizing a machined short shifter for $179. I called for additional info and received general but vague answers. I was encouraged to search the rennlist because vertex claimed several rennlisters purchased Schnell short shifters from Vertex and subsequently posted their reviews. Needless to say, my search failed to find any such posts.

So, any relevant experience with this particular part/upgrade?

Get OEM, its a little more expensive but worth the money. I've never heard of schnell until last edition of pano came out, I've also not seen any reviews posted.

Why do you rec the OEM vrs, say the B and M unit, the possible supplier of the OEM unit?
