I don't think "everyone" hates the Aerokit. In fact, I'm thinking of getting it. It's racy looking, and it reduces lift on both the front and rear, with NO increase in drag (that's an engineering feat)! I've seen pictures of it in different colors, and it seems to look best in the darker colors. Like any car, 997's with the kit look great from some angles and less so from other angles (consequently, people may want to reserve final judgement until they've had a good look at it in the flesh).

Keep posting those Aerokit pictures!

That looks great! I don't hate the aerokit, I just can't use it for what I use my 997 for, but I certainly don't hate it.

I like the look of the front, just not the wing. I wish they had the one from the current GT3.

VB- wow, nice mods . The car looks ready to ATTACK.

Any idea about weight savings with your changeover to racing interior ? Your avatar shows Ruf alum pedals....any pics of those (and Ruf dead pedal, too) would be appreciated. I plan to get them as soon as my ship comes in.

VB;
Love the aero kit. I'e always been a "fin man" . You stated that it was a OEM kit. Did you get it through the dealer? If you don't mind, what type of expense are you looking at?

I think the Aero kit is $ 8,500.00. I've seen a couple of 997s with Porsche Aero kits so far and didn't like it in person.

That looks incredible!!! I love the front end and the much needed rear wing. The kinesis fill the wheel up nice. What are you doing for sways since it is a track car. What about extra suspension, such as control arms, camber plates, and others to get the most adjustability and handling.

PM I want to chat more about this track car!

Suffice to say, if that's what the GT3 looks like and it has the GT1 based dry-sump engine- when I get back from Iraq- count me IN.....Awesome car...then again I fit the age category of the early 20 yo's but I hate Ricers.

Two 997 aerokits on ebay now for $5,500 (different sellers); one states list is $6,990. Front end looks nice, not sure about the wing but it could grow on me. One of the ebay listings says this is the same as the factory GT3's.

C4S Surgeon…I agree on the Roll Bar since I built this to be a street legal track car, the problem is I have not been able to find a company that makes one. I have been talking with Das Sport about designing one but they are involved in some other projects. I spoke with Colin and he said that the 996 bar does not fit the 997…yet the BK truss that I installed in my car is for a 996 and it bolted on perfect. Have you seen a bar made for the 997? I had one in my 993 and it’s really bothering me because one of my best friends died last year in a roll over.

930man…I was thinking about trying the Pagid yellows, definitely going to try them since you like them so much.

Regarding the price for the aero kit…I paid $5,500.00 for the kit; $700.00 for the paint job and I installed it myself.

Regarding the suspension…I have Bilstein PSS9’s on the car now and have not seen anything else available, but will consider some type of cup car set up when available…the sway bars are H&R (the front bar was a bitch to install)…trying to locate some high quality drop links now.
