Default How to avoid leaks?

How can I avoid the leaks that happen when I take my 997 S Cab to touchless wash?

(don't say don't take it to touchless car wash, I'm lazy to hand wash it)

Don't take it to a touchless car wash. Either wash it yourself, or pay someone else to wash it by hand.

Oh, and don't forget this important advice: don't take it to a touchless car wash. Either wash it yourself, or pay someone else to wash it by hand.

Sportscarfanatic, have someone wash it by hand, those touchless carwashes will damage your tires/undercarriage and who knows what (not enough clearance for your cars height and tire widths, not to mention the precious alloy rims)! Best to play it safe than deal with the consequences later IMHO.

The type of wash I take does not have any rails or guide bars, so the tires and the rims do not touch anywhere.

Take it to your dealer to get washed!

My advice would be: don't take it to a touchless car wash. Either wash it yourself, or pay someone else to wash it by hand.

Or, just don't wash it!

How 'bout the lame recycled water that they use that'll shoot salty water into the nooks and crannys of your car? Of course that's probably much worse in the winter. Have some guy do it, it's your baby

It only takes 15 minutes to hand wash and dry. Be good to your Porsche. It's a small price to pay.

True in the summer there is no excuse for going through a car wash, but in the winter I run mine through the car wash once a week and I don't have any problems. The fact is that I get more rock chips driving the car and haven't had any damage to my car by going through a touchless car wash.

My advice is if you have to go through one - Keep the spoiler down when going through a car wash. Carry a microfibre towel with you to dry off the door sills/crannies and under trunk lid.

I dream of sleeping with Heidi Klum, but I have no plans of tying her shoelaces for her! ;-)

if you're too lazy to wash your car, i'm sure you're known for your stamina in bed.

My advice would be: don't take it to a touchless car wash. Either wash it yourself, or pay someone else to wash it by hand.

The top seals well against car wash. You don't need to do anything extra.

Your top will wear out from the cloth roller. Get your car washed by a detailer, they are about $15-20 and some do mobile service. You don't want to know how much it'll cost to replace the top. It's well worth keeping it clean.
