Interesting proposition.

That link also affords the Torque & Power curves for the 997S X51 pack....interesting that there is a noticeable increase in Torque. Unlike the previous generation the additional horsepower is not solely above 5000rpm.

Thanks UberXY for the heads up on the Club P-car. Just finished registering for the chance to win one--Doe we live in a great country or what?? We are already fortunate enough to be driving around one of the premier sports cars in the world--then Porsche gives us the chance to win a truly special car to boot!!! God Bless America and good luck to all....

Ok..which obscure Canadian statute requires this condition....

"Canadian residents only: In order to win the Runner-Up Prizes or, subsequently, the Grand Prize, a selected winner must first correctly answer (before receiving each prize), without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a four-function time limited mathematical skill-testing question. Failure to answer the question correctly and within five (5) business days of being contacted by telephone or e-mail for the purpose of answering this question will cause the prize to be forfeited."

If you consider that lucky, then check this out: www.dubaidutyfree.com & www.abudhabidutyfree.co.ae yeah yeah yeah, it's no Porsche but a bag of cash or another set of luxury wheels. The odd Porsche, Ferrari and Lambo actually does come up for the raffle every now and then.

Ciao,

Im afraid someone is going to have to explain the utility of what is basically a $100,000 c2s with 26 more hp.....and you cant even pick your own color and for around $5k more, you have a 997GT3.

GT3BB,

Exactly! Or a slightly used GT3 for 85K and 15K in the pocket.

Why does Peter Porsche sound like a mascot?

riad,

Last time I heard anything involving Peter Porsche, he was test driving the Porsche Cayenne look-a-like golf cart!

He is probably the one responsible for the excess inventory of X51 parts, and has now cooked up this early garage sale scheme to reduce the inventory.

When is this available for sale?

Edit: Nevermind, saw you had to enter the lottery. So X51 cars already exist in the US? How soon will 2006 builds be for sale?

What would the tax liability be if you "won" this car? I know the winner would be liable for state sales tax, license and registration, but from an income tax standpoint, would you pay simple "capital gains" tax on the value of the prize? In other words...what would it cost someone to actually win this car?
