Gorgeous day here today..Sun finally came out and I'm stuck at work!
I really need to find out a way to disable the fing seat belt alarm in my car.
This thing drives me insane! Going to the mailbox at work in parking lot or picking up mail at home at the corner or man other times it is a nuisance.
Anyone know how to stop it??????????????

Here is an idea. If you are not going so far as to make it necessary to buckle up; walk! ![order](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/order.gif)
Walking is good for you. Your climate is also conducive for walking. Take advantage of it. Most of us do not get enough walking or exercise in our lives.

Cut your belt and insert the buckle JK
It's just a light and it doesn't make noises like other cars. I think it's a good thing to keep and if you temper with it, you will want to restore it if you ever sell it for safety/litigation reasons.

This is how you stop that wreched annoyance once and for all:
remove the instrument cluster from the dashboard
find the tone generator in the circuit board (round button-like thing with a hole in the center
put some good quality tape over it OR BETTER: fill the hole with hot glue.
Put it all back together.
You'll still hear he tone but you have to be very quiet and listen very carefully.
Unfortunately I don't know exactly step-by-step how to remove guage cluster on the 997,it may be too early to find it in DIY "hack" car sites?

I agree with you. That seat belt warning is the loudest, most obnoxious of any car I've had. Why does it have to come on if you remove the belt before turning the engine off? I don't know of any other car that works that way.

Here is how to silence the seat belt alarm...![evilgrin](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/evilgrin.gif)
Step 1. Reach under the dash, grab a handfull of wires and pull... hard! The seat belt chime has to be one of them.
Step 2. If alarm still works, repeat Step 1!

Great advice guys! Thanks....the best one would be to walk more....They could have at least had it c ome on after a couple of mins instead of the second the car moves..........
If I get in an accident in my work pkg lot or around the block from home then i"I deserve any injury that comes along with going 10mph...........
Anyone have an extra seat belt i can buy for the clip??????

Indeed walking is number one option.
The second option, which I actually did, buy a high tech bike and enjoy that one too.
Take another step into thinking about that seatbelt. Is it really that annoying?
