Couple questions:

Is the 997S louder than the 997?

Is PSE louder than the 997S?

Any subjective observations would also be appreciated.

I added PSE to my 997S. It makes all the difference in the world to the sound. The only change in throttle response is the Sport Chrono button and, perhaps, one's reaction to the sound of the PSE. It is definitely louder than stock 997S. I do not know about relative sound difference bewteen 997 and 997S stock mufflers.

is the faspeed exhaust really 18lb lighther than stock? Does what Suncoast says in their website....seems like the sound is not as good as PSE, but the weight savings are significant, especially in the rear where the 997 is heavier

Hey guys, here are some videos of different FVD exhaust setups on 997/S. PSE is also a nice choice, just a bit expensive IMO....
997 With FVD Headers, Sport Catalytics and Mufflers

997S With FVD Headers and Mufflers

997S With FVD GT Full System (Headers, Cats, Single Muffler (ala 996 Turbo), and 90mm tips

Hope this helps in your decisions
